We make every cent count that is donated to Operation Restore Hope Australia (ORHA)!
Funds donated to ORHA are used for cleft lip and palate as well as craniofacial surgery for our special children. Funds are also used for the patients’ general healthcare as well as to purchase medical supplies and equipment and to cover the other expenses required to conduct our missions. ORHA also uses funds to improve and renovate the local hospitals in which we work when necessary to ensure the safety of all surgeries.
All the healthcare professionals who work for Operation Restore Hope Australia including surgeons, anaesthetists and allied medical staff do so on a strictly volunteer basis funding their own travel, accommodation and expenses. Also, unlike most charities, all of our administration in Australia is carried out by volunteers; even our accountants work pro bono. With all this volunteer help, we are able to keep the average cost of an operation for our missions carried out in the provinces by our Filipino teams to an average of $500 AUD per surgery while missions run by our foreign volunteers cost a bit more being held in Metro Manila.
